If Life was Fake

AN: This is a poem about someone, like Truman, found out their entire life was fake and planned. It is my response to the Truman Show too. I had trouble thinking of topics to write about but I have decided to do this topic and in this format. I hope you enjoy it!

My life is a fake,
a fraud,
an act.

A secret my whole life,
a mystery,
a puzzle.

All my fears aren't real,
planned,
rehearsed.

Nothing is real,
not in this world,
not even the people.

I want to live,
a free life,
with the unexpected.

 I want a life,
with real people,
and places.

I want to live
a life that's mine,
and mine alone.

  1. This is really good Hannah. I like your first line and how it sets the scene for what is about to come. Great job.

  2. I really enjoyed this poem also. I really think you did a good job illustrating how it seemed that Truman felt. I agree with Paityn, the first line really caught my attention and the rest of the poem held it. I also really like how you had a phrase on each first line of each stanza that set the topic for what that stanzas was going to be about and then you had two smaller phrases that enhanced it and made it more powerful. If that didn't make any sense I just really like the style you used.

  3. This was a good poem. I think you really captured the feeling of what Truman was going through. I also liked the flow of the piece, and the way you broke the stanzas. Good job!

  4. I love the way you made the verses short, so they kind of flowed and bounced, and it worked really well for what you were trying to do. Great job HNA GNA!
